The police can issue tickets on private property?
I stopped on private property (parking) for not having a light on my bike. No ticket was issued, but I wonder if the cop was being nice or if it is because he was not entitled to issue a ticket. If Fretman is privately owned but open the public but not private property? That post signs saying it is private property. If this is not private, why (and how) Can you put up signs? Does anyone know if there is a website similar to Yahoo! responses where people can ask questions legal?
Depends on the state. In North Carolina some violations can be loaded into private property. The officer was probably just concerned for their safety and do not want you crushed by a single person.
